The Sony ECM-W2BT Camera-Mount Digital Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System for Sony is the ideal wireless vlogging microphone for Sony cameras with digital MI interfaces. Making for a flexible and easy-to-use true-wireless microphone system for vloggers, YouTubers, journalists, and content creators alike.
Supported by aptX low latency connectivity it delivers an incredible 200 meters range with minimal risk to interruption. All in a compact and light design, with an advanced microphone capsule that is dust and moisture resistant. 3.5mm input on the transmitter allows for external microphones and the 3.5mm output on the receiver can be used to connect other devices.
Recording an interview is a breeze without worrying about cables, simply clip the miniature clip-on transmitter with a built-in omnidirectional microphone to your subject. Should you wish for a more discreet lavalier then there is also a stereo 3.5mm audio input, allowing you to connect smaller lavaliers such as the ECM-LV1 (available separately) if desired.
Both the transmitter and receiver are powered via built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and the compact receiver attaches directly to the MI shoe mount on compatible Sony cameras, giving the system up to 9 hours of shooting time, assisted by the camera's power. Without an MI connection, the system will operate for up to 3 hours between charges. If the camera's MI shoe is also equipped with a digital interface, the direct connection allows the camera to record pristine sound with an ultra-low noise floor.
A built-in microphone on the receiver unit, along with a 3-setting switch allows you to pick up audio from either the subject at the transmitter, the camera operator at the receiver or both at the same time for interviews. The receiver also features a 3.5mm output for connection to traditional DSLR/mirrorless cameras and a 3.5mm TRS cable is supplied along with a USB cable and a windscreen for the transmitter/mic.

The unit comes with a windscreen, allowing comfortable recording when shooting outside. Just attach the windscreen to the mic, and it effectively reduces wind noise as well as breath noise, for clear and stable sound even when shooting outdoors on a windy day.

Stable transmission between microphone and receiver
Qualcomm® aptX™ Low Latency Bluetooth® codec is used for transmission between the microphone and receiver units, ensuring low latency and undiminished audio quality. It helps avoid the stress of having to re-record audio due to interruptions in the recorded sound, and low latency enables better matching of the audio track with the video imagery.
Stable audio recording
Thanks to a capacity twice as large as with conventional transmission setups, the risk of an interrupted audio stream has been drastically reduced, even in crowded settings with a lot of wireless activity. In a location with good visibility without obstacles, communication is possible at up to 200 meters.
Compact & Lightweight Design
The ECM-W2BT is lightweight and easy to carry at only 27 grams for the microphone unit and 28 grams for the receiver.
The ECM-W2BT features clear indicator LEDs on the receiver for peace of mind while recording. A LINK lamp shows the status of communication between the microphone and receiver, while a POWER lamp indicates the remaining battery charge.
A practical connector protect holder included with the ECM-W2BT can be used to carry the receiver and microphone together as one unit. The holder is designed to make it easy to use the receiver and microphone in combination, and it also functions as a handy storage unit when you want to take the ECM-W2BT with you.
